To celebrate her final U.S. stop on the 1989 Tour, we turned 93.3 FLZ into Taylor 933! With a little help from Taylor, of course. 🙂

Ryan Drean (of VO/imaging/RyanOnTheRadio.com fame) had me on the Producer’s Podcast recently, and it was pretty fun! I don’t normally do those types of things, and I talked about a LOT of stuff for a LONG time.

Some of you may know that I periodically help out my friend Bonics with sound design elements for Wiz Khalifa’s shows, or that I do some non-corporate freelance production for my own clients. It’s tough to find good sounds… especially when you don’t know where they’ll be airing and for what those stations/clients are licensed. Don’t get yourself or your clients sued… that’s my motto… or something.
My friend Nick Daley put me up on this crazy deal from ProSoundEffects… they’ve made a Hybrid Library for freelance sound designers that contains over 50,000 effects (real good stuff too, not the BS “free” effects) PLUS 100 downloads from their online library, for $1500 all-in. It’s a lifetime buyout license, so you can use it ANYWHERE and it’s not locked into your company or market.
50k+ sounds for $1500. Hell yes.
Apply for approval, pay the man, and you get a LaCie RuggedMini 500GB USB3 drive with EVERYTHING on it. Metadata’s included for your favorite sound-search tool (which I don’t have yet, haha). The fact that it comes on a RuggedMini helps me especially; since I’m on planes so much, it’s nice to not have to haul a full-size or even a normal-size Rugged when all I need are my FX, and USB3 meshes with my Retina MBP SO nicely.
From their website, it looks like I grabbed one of two remaining units, and the deal ends January 31st. If you need sounds, get on it!
These are real voicemails. No actors, no scripts, not safe for work. (No stealing.)
